The Patrick Mahomes led Chiefs will certainly have their hands full against the Tom Brady led Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the big dance. Heading in as -3.5 point favourites, Andy Reid’s men are justifiably priced just ahead of the Bucs in what should be a cracking clash.

Having won 16 games this season, seven of which were won by double figure points margins, they’re unquestionably one of the best teams in the NFL. Hoping to become the first side in 16 years to win consecutive Super Bowls, they’ll need to, however, be at their best to beat their foes.

While they’re an excellent team both offensively and defensively, there’s no doubting how crucial Mahomes, their star quarterback, will be towards their chances of success. Set to face off with Brady, who’s won a staggering six Super Bowls, for the fifth time (they’ve won two games each), one gets the feeling whichever QB does the best will be a key deciding factor towards the outcome.

Speaking recently on Mahomes, Brady offered a fascinating insight into how highly he rates Mahomes, explaining: “He’s a terrific player, obviously, being league MVP a few years ago.

“Fifty touchdowns is pretty hard to do – there’s not many guys who have done that. To continue that last year with the Super Bowl championship, and [he is] playing at an extremely high level this year. He’s just getting more and more comfortable and so much about playing quarterback is having experience, learning from year-to-year [and] improving your routine.

“He’s just doing a tremendous job. … You give him a chance to win and he takes advantage of it and leads the team down there. He does a tremendous job.”

Looking to win back to back Super Bowls, if Mahomes, who’s still just 25, can fire his team to glory, he’ll continue on his quest to join Brady as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

Come next Sunday, all will be revealed as the world will be watching to see who’ll be crowned champions of Super Bowl 55.
