2. Michael Jordan

Undoubtedly the greatest basketball player of all time and one of the most popular athletes in the history of the NBA, Michael Jordan’s betting record do not quite match his accomplishment on the court.

He once placed a million-dollar worth of bets on a golf game and lost. At one point, the former Chicago Bulls star was on a particularly bad losing streak, resulting in him owing millions to Richard Esquinas, a San Diego businessman.

3. Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Boxing icon, Floyd Mayweather Jr., is no stranger to winning in and out of the ring. While Michael Jordan’s betting record does not match his success inside the court, Mayweather’s the exact opposite.

His bets include more than half a million on the American football team as well as a $45,000 win after betting $50,000 on Colorado State.
